For the record, these aren’t white-collar jobs, and they’re some of the self-employed jobs that can make you over $37k, and even much more than this figure in a year.

Again, they’re not get-rich-quick jobs or the kind of jobs that can make you rich overnight.

They’re mostly passive, realistic, and you don’t need a lot of money to start them.

Without further ado, here are 10 best and realistic jobs that pay $37,000 a year.

10 Best Jobs that Pay $37,000 a Year.

1. Blogging.

Without a doubt, blogging definitely joins the list of jobs that pay $37,000 a year. Or $3,000 dollars every single month.

I’m not saying you’re going to get paid $3k monthly if you start a new blog. No. You’d have to invest some time and work upfront for you to start seeing results gradually.

With a brand new blog, you can expect to make a couple hundred dollars in your first month.

If you take a more hands-on business outreach approach to blogging or content development and marketing, then you can break the $1,000/month threshold in your first few months.

The big picture to generate a lot of money is to reach out. That’s the big picture. Outreach is one way to make money blogging, the easy path.

This means sending emails and organizing physical interviews and meetings with other mega bloggers in your space.

And while there are other approaches to blogging (like sitting in front of your laptop and cranking out content consistently over the long haul), taking a business approach and working like a CEO (while building relevant networks) can easily grow your blog’s ranking strength, exposure, traffic, and revenue.

That being said, you’d need to have a couple of evergreen contents on your blog.

Very evergreen and few. Like 20 evergreen contents should do.

Like I mentioned, this isn’t the only way to make money blogging. A few bloggers adopt this towpath to blogging.

If you’re an introvert, writing 2 million words as fast as you can over hundreds or thousands of articles, say 700 to 1,500 blog posts, can yield tremendous results too.

Another pathway to blogging is slowly building links to your blog manually, writing guest posts with time, and waiting for these signals to replicate results while writing more relevant and ultra quality contents.

In this case, just over 100 articles (of 3,000+ words and lots of images) will do.

The least effective way with uncertain outcomes is the crank-crazy method. That’s the one I’m currently unto. But I don’t bother. It could return massive traffic for me later. It may not.

I just like the feeling of ranking for easy keywords that make sense and that people actually search for in my niche.

Whichever approach to blogging you choose to adopt, you’ll make money. And if it’s working for you, if it’s able to make $10/month, it can make $3,000 dollars a month.

In this guide, I show you step by step how to start a blog from scratch, build authority, get keywords, write contents, gain traction and monetize your traffic.

2. Affiliate marketing.

Selling people’s products or companies’ products and getting a commission for your effort is what affiliate marketing entails.

You market products, people buy, you make money in the form of commissions. With that being said, you can start affiliate marketing with nothing.

Yes, you don’t need to have any cash on you to start or venture into affiliate marketing. It’s a profitable way to make money.

And it certainly joins one of the best self-employed jobs that pay $37,000 a year. Or $3,000 a month from home.

Depending on how you get started with affiliate marketing, your income can dangle between $500 to $100k per month.

The key is to learn to do affiliate marketing the very right way. Every way to promote affiliate products isn’t the right way. Or doesn’t make for a right way.

3. YouTube.

From your home, you can operate a YouTube channel and generate passive income in the long run.

A good thing about starting a YouTube channel of your own is that you don’t pay a dime.

You’ve gotta have some good video editing skills if you don’t want to spend money on video editing experts and equipment.

With your phone, you can make and edit good videos. If you can afford a camera for making YouTube videos, go for it.

While it’s possible to make a grand total of $37,000+ a year on YouTube as a video creator, you’d start out with the intent to give the best content and steadily grow the number of subs and views you get week after week.

Once you start getting some real traction, you can bother about monetizing your channel using strategies like affiliate marketing, course sales, sponsored video uploads, and the most general; the YouTube partner program.

4. Dropshipping.

Dropshipping is one way to make money but you’ve gotta learn what works and what doesn’t before venturing into the open field.

Starting a dropshipping store is easy. But what’s not easy is driving traffic and pushing sales upwards.

If you’re totally new to the term or it’s not a familiar word, it’s all about selling products online or playing the role of a middleman or a broker between customers and suppliers.

You import products from suppliers to your own store, and customers land on your store to buy these products. That’s dropshipping.

And there are different ways to go about dropshipping.

It’s not a new trend that a huge percentage of new dropshippers fail, hence, the more reason to learn all you can before investing your time and resources into it.

5. Crypto trading.

While crypto trading isn’t a job per se, it’s one of the ways to make $37k a year. From home. It’s a self-employed job too.

So, you can start trading all by yourself and make money without having to say “yes boss” anymore in your life.

Truth is, this is easier said than done because you’d need to learn how to trade crypto-currencies, observe the trading rules and a lot more.

Plus, you’ve gotta be good before eventually opening an account to trade. The more money you’ll be trading with, the more money you’ll be liable to make.

And if you’re good, $3,000 dollars a month in total profit isn’t a big deal. It also largely depends on how much money you put into trading.

6. Programming.

As a programmer, you can work remotely and build a money machine for yourself. Or do both.

You can get remote jobs or become a self-employed programmer. Or become both a remote worker and a self-employed.

However, working as a remote worker or a freelancer, you can definitely make upwards of $3k per month.

It’s possible to consistently earn over $5,000 dollars monthly as a programmer if you’re really good at what you do.

On a second note, you can build a gaming app or some web tool or something to generate passive income for you monetized either by ads or subscriptions.

Generally, programming is a lucrative field.

And if you’re a good programmer, you can secure freelance gigs well enough to earn thousands of dollars a month. Could be challenging to get gigs at the start.

7. Copywriting.

Brands adore copywriters. And they do this because good copywriters can contribute to the growth of a product or a variety of products directly (and indirectly).

So, you can secure for yourself a self-employed job as a copywriter working for multiple clients in a month.

Can copywriting generate $37k a year?

In reality, copywriters are very well paid. And for sure, they can get paid as high as $80k per year. That’s way more than $37,000 dollars.

The good thing is that you don’t need to pay any dime to become a copywriter. It’s a skill you can acquire just by learning online and taking tutorials (over the internet).

Copywriting is a form of writing. More compulsive. More profitable. Slightly more significant.

8. Video production & editing.

Video production and editing is another self-employed job that pays up to $37,000 a year. And even more. Individuals and businesses are in need of this skill.

It’s a high demand skill that people are willing to pay for. For the purpose of commercials and brand marketing, video editors are sought for day in and out.

So, you can get yourself a job as a video editor working remotely and taking gigs from freelance marketplaces like Upwork, Fiver, and more.

You can also get gigs on Indeed.com and other very active job boards in your city.

The thing is, you’d need to be good at editing videos professionally because if you do a good job, these clients will keep you to get the job done for them every time.

In the long run with a honed video editing and production skill, you can become overwhelmed with the avalanche of gigs on your desk. It’s more money.

9. Barbering.

Barbering also joins the list of self-employed jobs that pay $37k a year, and even more.

You can start a barbershop at a very favorable location and make tons of money. Cutting hair for $30 per client, that’s 300 clients to hit $3,000 dollars in a month.

You can make more than this and it’s solely dependent on factors like your location, skill, and pricing.

The more money you charge per client, the more money you’re prone to generating overtime.

You can also take a business approach to things rather than just a sole proprietorship perspective by hiring more hands, investing to promote your services online, and strategizing to keep your clients while standing out from the competition (if there’s any).

10. Digital marketing.

Digital marketing is a myriad of activities to promote a cause, product, campaign, company, and whatnot. It’s one of the self-employed jobs that can pay much more than $37,000 dollars a year.

A lot of digital marketers get paid over $100k/year.

And some earn as high as $100k/month (taking their ventures into their hands). As a digital marketer, you can specialize in any of these aspects:

  • Search engine optimization
  • Influencer marketing
  • Social media marketing
  • Marketing analysis
  • Conversation optimization
  • Email marketing
  • Mobile marketing
  • Affiliate marketing (oh, yes)
  • Pay-per-click

And more.

You can gain mastery in every aspect with decades of experience in digital marketing. But specialization is a lucrative habit.

So, you can search for digital marketing gigs hovering your area of specialization and get paid.

You find these gigs, get the job done, and get paid.

A money-oriented approach would be to find out the most profitable aspect of the digital market, or a few of the most profitable aspects, and learn them.

10 Best Jobs that Pay $37,000 a Year – Final Words.

So, if you want to make $37,000 dollars a year in the United States, you can venture into any of these.

In summary (just in case you skimmed down to this point), they include barbering, digital marketing, copywriting, blogging, YouTube channel development & monetization for long-term passive income, crypto trading, programming, dropshipping, and affiliate marketing.

If you can venture into more than one, go for it.

But if you’re like me, you’d want to build on just one of them for a long time so that it’s easy for you to grow any other second choice you opt for.
